What an exciting year this is going to be at South Elementary, and I am SO excited to navigate throughout this year WITH you! My primary role as the school counselor at South Elementary is to help young learners on our campus by offering social and emotional support as well as academic support. In addition, while I know it appears early, we will also start exploring different careers.

Social and Emotional Support

Some children go through intense trauma, while others may want someone with whom to talk and to hear their words. I strive to provide a safe and comfortable environment to interact and be a resource for anyone who may need my support. I look forward to working with the students, parents, and teachers at South Elementary to help provide emotional support to aid in helping the students to be successful.

Academic Support

Besides helping students meet their emotional needs, I also offer academic support. My goal is to help students build confidence, encourage strong study skills, and provide educational support to aid in helping students transition successfully to the next grade. I want to work with all involved to help these young learners to identify their strengths and weaknesses, giving students the ability to set realistic goals and achieve success. Therefore, I want to help students at South Elementary develop strategies that will help them flourish in their elementary years and beyond.

I encourage all students, parents, and teachers to reach out to me when there are concerns, but also when there are not concerns. Feel free to call me at 573-243-9575 or set up an appointment to meet with me. My email address is [email protected] We are the South Tribe!
